Railway Coal

Our normal and highly popular steamcoal, Brunel® is temporarily not available due the economic conditions in the world coal market. World coal prices are at unprecedented high levels, and this, together with current significantly higher freight rates has made the importation of our normal railway coal product unsustainable. The prices at which we would need to sell Brunel® Coal would be unacceptable to the market. It is to be hoped that more normal conditions will return to the world coal market shortly at which time we will be looking to re-establish the importation of Brunel® coal. In the meantime we do have a variety of other coals available which, whilst not having the same chemical characteristics and properties as Brunel®, many of our regular customers are finding perform acceptably well and at much better prices than would be applicable to Brunel® at the present time. Therefore, please speak to our trading department or your usual representative, and we will be pleased to describe to you in detail the alternatives we have available and provide references of our many customers who have tried and approved of the use of these alternative fuels.
