In April 1988, we acquired the wholesale division of the Cardiff-based Evans & Reid Group to enter, for the first time, the domestic wholesaling market. Upon restructuring as Evans & Reid (Solid Fuels Distribution) Ltd, the newly acquired business covered just the southwest of England and East Anglia. In recent years the sales force has been steadily enlarged and now services the needs of independent coal merchants throughout England and Wales.

All our sales personnel are experienced coal professionals and can supply our own portfolio of fuels, other imported products and the whole range of British house-coals and anthracites as well as manufactured fuels.

Our philosophy in servicing the independent coal merchant is quite simple, listen to the customer, understand his or her needs and offer the fuels that are best suited to those needs, on the best possible terms, irrespective of whether the recommended fuels are our own branded products or independently sourced.

Direct Accounts to Independent Wholesalers
Established independent wholesalers have direct access to our full range of branded products. These direct accounts are supported by formal supply contracts which guarantee continuing availability and stable price structures. Wholesalers regularly bring their merchant customers to the Avonmouth, Grassmoor and Redruth Coal Terminals for site visits to see for themselves the quality and security of our facilities as reliable supply points for their business. Coal merchants and industrial users alike can access Rudrum Holdings' products through the wholesaler of their choice.
